If you play at an international casino, you are outside the safety nets your country built for its licensed market. That makes your own limits more important. This page gathers the help and tools that still work.

Talk to someone, free and in confidence

  • Sweden: Stödlinjen, 020-819 100 (stodlinjen.se)
  • Norway: Hjelpelinjen for spilleavhengige, 800 800 40
  • Denmark: StopSpillet, +45 70 22 28 25
  • Finland: Peluuri, 0800 100 101

You do not need to be in crisis to call. Many people ring simply to check whether their gambling is still under control.

Why Spelpaus and ROFUS will not protect you here

Sweden’s Spelpaus and Denmark’s ROFUS bind only casinos licensed in those countries. An international casino is not connected to them, so a self-exclusion at home does not stop you from opening an account abroad. If you registered with one of these schemes, please respect that decision; it was made for a reason.

Five habits that keep gambling fun

  1. Budget first. Decide what you can afford to lose this month before you open any site.
  2. Set the casino’s limit on day one. At most of the Malta brands we cover you can set daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits yourself; increases take 24 hours.
  3. Use your bank. Many Nordic banks let you block gambling payments in their app, which works at every casino.
  4. Watch the clock. Turn on reality checks where available and stop when a session runs long.
  5. Never chase. A loss is the cost of the entertainment, not a debt to win back.

Exclusion at the casinos we cover

Every casino in our guides offers self-exclusion, but the scope differs. At some, it covers only the single site; at others, support can extend it to sister casinos run by the same company. Ask for that explicitly if you want a block to be complete. Some offshore brands handle limits only through support, which is one reason we rate them lower.

Signs it is time to stop

Spending more than planned, borrowing or using money meant for bills, lying about gambling, or feeling anxious when you are not playing are all signals to pause and talk to someone. You must be at least 18 to gamble, and 21 for casino games at the Estonian-licensed casinos in our guides. See our about page for how we work and our guide homepage for the rules in each country.

Frequently asked questions

Can I exclude myself from international casinos?

Only casino by casino, through each site’s own self-exclusion, and sometimes across sister sites on request. National schemes such as Spelpaus and ROFUS do not cover them.

Where can I get help in Norway?

Hjelpelinjen for spilleavhengige offers free help on 800 800 40.
